Abstract

This research aims to characterize Science Teaching in a pandemic context. The intention is to analyze the academic contributions for the Science Teaching purpose. It is qualitative research. Fifteen papers (2020-2021), which are distributed in eight journals in the fields of Education and Science Teaching, were read and full analyzed, regarding general information (type of research; thematic focus, school level and references) and specifics about Science Teaching in the pandemic context (Science Teaching elements, prioritized teaching methods, specific contents of the Natural Sciences addressed, reflections on the Science Teaching purpose). As a results, it was observed the focus on teaching-learning processes, teachers’ characterization, and didactic resources. We also identified a certain fragility in the theoretical foundations. In the most investigated papers, the focus is to fight fake news and scientific denial. Researchers are concerned with relating the Natural Sciences to other knowledges. Teaching methods are vindicated. Scientific content and the discussion about the Science Teaching purposes were barely found.
